Default So what are you doing...

So what are you doing today with these frigid temperatures most of us are experiencing? Was -26 at noon today, and windchill was -38! Pretty nasty past couple of days, and until around next Thursday.

So my lovely wife spent most of the day baking for Xmas.

I spent the afternoon in my wood heated shop working on a skinner knife for a customer...Life is good!...

Picked the day to try and replace some firebricks in my parents woodstove. They had an old stove in the scrap pile we had to get the bricks out of. In the end it all worked out but my fingers were cold for a while! Was using the blow torch to heat my hands up at one point!

Final touches to a Watercolor. Need to find some barn wood in the spring to frame it

Slept in this morning and didn't make it to Church.

Customer who purchased one of these knives wanted three more just like it. I'm in the process of finish grinding these three for her.

Decorated the Christmas tree.

Decorated the house.

Spent a typical -25 day today, went out to K-country to cut a Christmas tree, went to the Christmas Craft fair on the way home, shoving sticks in the stove for the afternoon while taste testing the Christmas baking to make sure its OK for human consumption and trying my best to avoid the dreaded command disguised as a question " when you get a minute would you mind"... just another day
This is Alberta, its cold, we live here, we work here and we play here. Wouldn't trade it for any beach anywhere.

Booked a day off.
Spent it getting the heat on for people instead.
So it goes on cold days.

Layed in bed most the day.
Watched some older movies with Arnold Shwartzenegger, Chuck Norris, Sylvester Stallone, and Ron Jeremy.
Lazy Sunday.

Laying in the CCI recovering from stem cell transplant & high dose melphalan chemotherapy. I would rather be outside!

Watched the World Cup final, plowed some snow in the yard. Wifes cousin came over for a visit and to pick up their baking (my wife loves to bake) and some wild meat from this past season.

Other than TV…. Spent a bit of time cleaning up some brass, hour outside on the tractor making the driveway wider so there will be room to push the next snow, shoveled off the deck.

Built a couple of bump boards for some folks. Make great Christmas gifts I'm told.

I had the snowblower out cleaning the driveway and sidewalks. Went out tonight on the electric fat bike but there was a real cool breeze.

Fixed the wiring in a frozen waterer, fed silage to the cows and hay to the horses, replaced an airline on the truck and loaded canola and then bedded cows.

I ran around Edmonton and Sherwood Park looking for 20 gauge shotgun shells. I found some! Then I gave my older brother a visit before Christmas and exchanged gifts. It was a great day.

A little this and a little that...typical until I find something that sparks my interest then it's full on.

Spent some time on the reloading bench. Did my yearly clean up then decided to size and clean some brass. Now that I found finally found some powder again, it's time to put it all together.

Made out of garage door sections. Good choice and a good way to recycle and reuse old building materials. I'm proud of you.
Good job on building that ice fishing hut. Enjoy.

I’m hurry-up & waiting for a plumbing inspector to arrive within their 8-12 window at a site I have no work left at. After that it’s off to get various folks their heat going & most likely the same thing for the next few days…
