Sincere condolences to the family, friends, and co-workers of the slain officers. May they find solace in their time of grief.

It’s such a dangerous and thankless job more so today than ever before. Condolences to those grieving families. It’s got to be just devastating. RIP

The news is stating that the shooter was supposedly 16, so we may never know what led up to the shooting, or whether he was involved in a gang or in criminal activities. All that we know is that he was too young to legally possess a firearm.

Criminal rights are not the issue here. We like to blame everything on the gov't but refuse to accept any responsibility ourselves.

We wanted social change in the 60s and 70s and now we have it. We are seeing a complete breakdown in some parts of our society. Drugs, single parent families, absent parents, social moral acceptance of things that are not moral or normal, social instability, wars and huge changes in our society are only the tip of the iceberg. Many of our children will be directionless and without hope as a result and we are seeing that now.

He might not be, but his mother could have.

Lots of unknowns right now, but this is starting to look quite pre-meditated if you ask me.
Very sad day in Edmonton's history.

Hey guys. Lets keep this thread for the memory of the deceased officers. I not saying to not have a discussion on these merits, but start another thread please.

It took me three tries to read Ashly's letter to the end
I agree leave out the gun discussions for another thread

One of many questions answered.

I know I was wondering if these shooting were related.

Unbelievably heartbreaking and such unnecessary loss. My heart and prayers go out to these families. Hug your children, and give your spouse a kiss. Life is way too short.

It pays to be patient in these investigations...

I believe EPS has done a great job updating facts as they come up...
