Default My first buck

My dad, my uncle and dads buddy and I went hunting. One the Friday morning we were going for a quick drive and along our drive we spotted a nice big mulie running over the hill. At an instant we all bolted out of the truck and started on its trail. My uncle was already over a hill before we closed our doors on the truck. So we spotted his doe doubling back along the side of a hill. My dad decided to go along the area of where the doe had exited, and Mike (my dads buddy) and I took off up the middle. After going over a couple of rolling hills we spotted the nice buck running a good 150 yards away. My first instinct was to say "hey Mike he's over there"! and just after Mike had said "where"? I pulled the trigger of my new magic stick just as the deer started to run down a hill. I wasn't sure if I hit him or not and so i took off in the direction of the deer was running. I looked down at the bottom of the hill and I see a set of HUGE horns sticking up out of the grass. My dad made it to the deer before I did and told me the deer was running right at him and he was about to pull the trigger before he heard my gun shot and saw the deer crumble down the hill. It was a great hunt for my first buck.

This deer was green scored 175 7/8 gross, net 168 4/8. Not bad for a first deer.

Oh ya, I forgot to add that after 2 years of not getting anything. Then just a week after my 16th birthday I finally got my first buck and I gotta say he's a dandy.

I hit on the run
beside his right eye and went out 2 inches below the left eye.
I know a guy who said he will mount my deer and he said the cape will be fine and that it'll look like a fighting scar.
