Default Selling horn mounts

An old family friend has many horns that have been mounted on wood at a taxidermy. One is a very large moose.
Anyways because it was mounted is it legal to sell.

Only sheds are legal to sell ..unless the horn mounts have been registered for sale for 3 years if I'm not mistaken

If the antler or antlers are attached to the skull plate or any part of the skull plate it is considered wildlife parts and is illegal to sell whiteout the proper permit. Shed antlers are legal to sell.

Interesting question here.

i've been thinking about starting to make bone and horn crafts.

I don't anticipate selling anything, but if it isn't attached to the skull plate, and is a pendant, etc . . is that legal to sell?

As soon as it is a shed antler it is no longer considered wildlife. At this point you can sell it as you see fit.

But what if it is cut up and made into something how are you going to tell if it is a shed on not. Example cut up for dog treats or art piece.
