Default Ice fishing for whitefish

Hey everyone, hope this ice fishing season worked out for everyone! I was wondering if anyone knows of a good place by Edmonton that has whitefish. I am looking for bigger ones and easily catch-able. I have been going to Gull since January with my little brother and his Godfather and we have never been skunked. I went yesterday and today and was skunked my first time yesterday.... Fish keep on coming and turning away. When i opened their stomachs, they have seaweed and scud inside. Not sure why they aren't biting as well. Please give me some tips or places to take my little brother out one last time before season is over. Thanks!!!

Even the Master Anglers get skunked no shame that's fishing

if a front moves in /pressure change its can shut down

Every lake has is secrets

move around and look for those spots

take a google earth look at any lake you are going to fish and look for structure ..then fish just on or off of it

go to AFGA and look at the winners for the last number of years
http://afga.org/pdf/2012WABwinners.pdf

are the big ones ever easy ?

What is a Whitefish diet in the winter ?

go in the summer time on a calm day and watch the lake you will see the size of lake Whitefish in the lake when they are hunting/feeding(ps you should see schools of them rising)

understand your target fish and where they will be at certain times of the year and what their feed is /or where it is

these are a few tips and are as always

Food for Thought

I mean I was never told of any new lakes. I think the question was misread to be honest.

You can either have small, lots and easy to catch (sylvan), or big, few and hard to catch (pigeon). Take your pick. Gull would be somewhere in the middle.

change you technic as they wise up(whites) and move to a different area/school of Whites

on the lakes around Edmonton others can answer that too on bigger fish

AFGA book here are some lakes
