The lake can get really rough in minutes, it is also very low this year with many rocks just under the surface.

You could launch it but unless the levels come up I wouldn't chance it this year.

Is it possible to shore fish at the lake? Or is it too shallow? We are going camping this weekend to the David Thompson resort, no boat but I am wanting to at least try and fish somewhere.

You can fish the North Saskatchewan river right below the dam or by the trunk road.

Thanks. Regulations booklet says Bait Ban, which means everything including powerbait correct? I get a bit confused by the bait rules.

Just got back from picking morels in the burn SW of there. The lake is really murky from glacier runoff as well as the rivers going in. Probably not good this weekend for fishing. When we left it had been raining hard all night and was still coming down in buckets when we left. You might try Fish Lake or Goldeye Lake.

As for using a pontoon boat on Abraham I don't think it would be advisable as posted above.
