Default Paddle River Reservoir

I'll be down by Mayerthorpe for a few days soon and I was wondering if anyone knows anything about the paddle river dam or the river itself? Should I bother bringing my canoe or is there good shore fishing to be had?

Thanks

I've had great luck just fishing from the boat launch for early season walleye. Never fished the fall but I suspect you'd have good luck trolling a shallow running crank bait along the shore behind the canoe.
Cheers

Wink Canoe fishing

My fiance and i have had great luck up at paddle river over the summer. We have been out about 3 times with our canoe and had fantastic luck trolling thompson spoons. I cant say for shore fishing but we have had a lot of fun with the canoe. I vote for bringing yours. Good luck !

Thanks guys but it turned out I wasn't able to bring the canoe. Shore fished for a few hours yesterday without any luck. I eventually froze and left.
