I wouldnt say that as there are some huge wolves around where I live. Ive seen them when laid out on a tail gate of a truck the head and tail hang off each side. There was a big black one shot by a local guy and in the pic there is three big guys sitting behind the wolf and the wolf is longer than they were wide. Look at the Savage Encounters web site, these wolf pics are from my area and a couple look as big as in this pic.

When my dad was young, he worked in Labrador on the pole line when they brought it in, there were a few incidents with wolves and one fella hit one with a truck, he brought it back to the camp and it completely filled the box of the truck, Dad had a picture of it and it had its nose at the top of the box and the tail was hung over the tail gate!!

Biggest thing that I had ever seen!

On the Alaska trapping forum, the same wolf, they say was shot at Sun Valley Idaho, where it had been killing livestock. However, to our credit, they did say it was a CANADIAN wolf. I suggested to them, that it was probably taken for not having the proper passport,as is now required by any of us entering the US of A...
