I'd say 152". The only way you'll get 175" is with a rubber tape

Given an 18" spread I would say 161. Nice sheds!

i would have to agree that the score is not likely 175, but a great matched pair anyway. id guess more like low 160's with an 18 inch spread.

shed comments
The sheds were scored 175 gross with a 20 inch spread.Pictures can be deceiving and they are bigger when actually held. This is my hunting outfit that I wear when I rifle and shed hunt as it gets very cold walking in the bush.It is not easy to find these big sheds and some days I walk for hours on trails only to find nothing.First shed of this season was found December 20.2009.I have found 16 so far this year and these are the biggest so far.

nice find
Very nice find. Congrats!!
What part of the province are you located at...... not looking for specifics here, just general area, would be fine. Do you do all your shed hunting on food, or do you use a snowmobile/quad?? Looks like you have a good amount of snow!

Good looking sheds, what are the numbers on them? Looking at them and adding up the guesstimate # it's at best a 162 looking buck. Post up the measurements if you don't mind.

X2. I am looking at it and can't come up with 175. At best 165 but not much more. It doesn't seem to have enough mass to do it. I am guessing the back tines to be 10-12 inches. 10 inch G3's, 6inch G4's. It has a similar frame to my 4X4 except the G4's. Mine went 150. if I add the extra 12 inces from the G4's then that is 162.

dont forget about the extra circumferance you get with having G4's

H1- measurement between pedical and G1
H2- measurment between G1 and G2
H3- measurment between G2 and G3
H4- measurment between G3 and G4
no G4 no H4 measurment

um...yeah. as an official scorer let me tell you how that works. when no G4 is present, the H4 measurement is taken at the halfway point on the main beam between the G3 and the beam tip. there are 4 circs on every antler.

so if you shoot a spike you still get 4 measurements? just divide the spike in 1/4?
EDIT: Ok I just looked at the score sheet, thanks for clearing that up, looks like some of my deer just gained inches

Jeez!I didn't know that a set of whitetail deer sheds would be so controversial and could be scored by looking at a picture.I know what I have and they may not be exactly 175,but they were roughly scored as I am not a professional scorer.I am not saying that they are close to being a Alberta record buck, but I am proud of what I found. It took me 4 hours of walking through 6 inches of snow to find a great pair of sheds.I am extremely happy with them! They are big, beautiful, and held everyday realizing finding a matched pair of big sheds can take a long hard days work of walking trails and bedding areas.Going out again looking on the weekend, hope to find more.I will post more pics as I find more sheds.Good luck to all the shed hunters!

The score would be less controversial if your face were uncovered. Unless you have something to hide? Nice sheds for sure.

Nice!!
Extreme, those are beauties. I do agree with you. you're looking at 75" horns and add the 20" you got a 170gross +/-. I too am a die hard shedder and know what it takes to scoop a beaut set like that. Looks like you got those babies on a field edge and both together..............NICE........ This year the lack of snow in my neck-o-the-woods is making for some great shed hunting.Unfortunately with the low deer numbers the shed numbers will be down.......big time!!
Heres a set I scooped up a couple weekends ago. I know exactly what the scores is(having scored a horn or two in my day).Just curious what the pros on here will estimate for a score??? Too bad he had a broken split G4 on the right side!
Either way Extreme, good luck with your ventures and keep me posted.
