Exclamation Rust removal on a Parker

Looking for a good rust remover. I have an old Parker Bros that has some deeper rust on it that I would like to get rid of. No pitting on the gun just some stubborn rust. Pretty much all of the blueing is gone from it leaving just the bare steel. Any sort of polishers or pastes that aren't to harsh. Any help would be great.

I used superfine steel wool and wd-40 on my .303 and it worked fine. Lately got a .22 with rust as well and found that a cloth buffing wheel on a bench grinder works very well. Its fast and will remove pitting also. Obviously you will need to reblue after either method.

I had an old M70 with some rust. I plugged the barrel at both ends and bead blasted it. Then I blued it and it came out with a nice matte finish. Sorry, but I don't have pictures of that one.

000 or 0000 steel wool and wd40 or G96 and elbow grease.

Be careful. Parker shotguns are usually collectable. Congrats on a fine shotgun

Naval Jelly. It dissolves rust.

I agree! I always use G-96 on rust removal in the shop! Belive it or not but Coke soda works also!
