Default Gas Prices.... WT?

Now I am no expert when it comes to fuel pricing, but has anyone else noticed that Oil is at the same price that it was before christmas, yet we are paying at least 10 cents more per liter of gas then we were before christmas? Funny how gas goes up so quick when the price of oil does, but is so slow to come back down. Also funny how if the price of anything else increased 10% in a couple weeks everyone would be crying, but when it comes to fuel we just pay it.

We pay it because we have no choice. Gas is'nt a luxury item, its a necessity of modern life. The bitching about gas prices ship has sailed, no choice but to pay what they want. I know its infuriating and causes worry and anxiety for some but we can all rest assured that Oil and Gas CEO's have a special place reserved for them in hell! Don't sweat the small stuff!!!

That's what gets me, when gas goes up .10 cents a litre overnight the stations still have their underground tanks full of gas they purchased cheaper.
They are saying gas will hit $1.50 a litre this year (but I've heard that before).

In Morinville the prices stay low until they get rid of the old (cheaper) fuel that they have left in the tanks. It could be 3 cents cheaper here than at St Albert 15 kms away. Funny thing though is that all the stations seem to run out of cheap fuel at the same time, maybe a few days after the prices go up in St Albert/Edmonton.

What's really funny is that people still think the Oil price is determined by market conditions. They have this group called OPEC [made up of CEO's and politicians] that fixes the Oil price every so often. Did anyone catch the show where they did a tour of the Saudi's Oil control room? Everything is gold plated. They control the production and distribution of every drop from one command center. It costs them $2 a barrel to bring it to the surface and they need to get $50 to pay for the extravagant system they have. They pay about a buck a gallon at the pump.

Opec might set the Price but we pay it. WE HAVE CONTROL OF THE COST OF GAS. The best way to control is the rising cost of gas is to pick a station in popular area and buy all your gas there encourage your peers to buy gas there also. Then the other stores are going to lose thier market share, then the cost of gas is going to come down at competeing stations to regain thier market share.

Try and open a non for profit gas station a "People Pumps" so to speak and watch the gas price drop in your town. And the big stations will keep the cost lower then your whole sale cost.

See how long the main suppliers sell you the gas for your station. Pressure would be put on them to dump you quite quickly I bet.
