Planning on going to the DR this winter (maybe march) jsut wondering what if anyone has gone fishing down there, experiences, references, who not to use etc. any info would be great.
I've fished a couple times down there out of Punta Cana. The first time was with some rinky-dink charter guy from the beach. I knew better but it was a holiday and alcohol may have played a part... needless to say it didn't work out too well. The second time I did a bit more homework before I went down and went with an outfit called Mike's Marina and we had a couple great charters. You should be able to google it but if you can't find it let me know, I probably can dig up their contact info.
If they ask for 200 bucks, tell them for every fish you catch youll give them 50 cents or a buck....whatever you choose.
I went on a snorkel trip and brought my fishing rod....I swam for a bit, looked for some underwater reefs with fish on them and then proceeded to fish from the shore.
Fill up a dish with some shrimp from the buffet, good bait.
