Default Gull or Sylvan Lake??

Just wondering if anyone knows what the ice thickness is like at Gull or Sylvan. Thinking about heading out to hammer the Whiteys here soon.

Thanks in advance

Was out in the wind yesterday at Gull it is about 8 inches nobody driving on yet walking out.Saw a few whites had a couple take shots at it but just spit it out.Nice big fish though there is a big ice heave on the west side of the lake.Should be good fishing again when the bite starts.

Hey guys thanks for the info. Went for lil drive this morning and checked things out. There was 5 ice huts on the very north end of Sylvan but the truck were at the shore. That end of the lake is quite protected from the wind and always has thinner ice from my past experiences on Sylvan. Went over to Brownslow from there and there was 7 different trucks on the ice. I walked out and chatted some people and they said there was 14 inches there but it was on the inside ( South & West side) of the big ice heave. I took a walk over and the outside of the heave doesnt look very safe to me yet so be wary. Only saw 1 Whiteys on the ice but people were just getting started.

The red diesel was mine, company truck so I leave it on shore all the time, I don't need the headache in case something ever happened. There is a good 12" of ice lots of guys driving on it, one guy moved a shack right to the middle of the lake today. White fish are bitting like mad if you got the right hook, saw a guy get 5 in about 20 minutes this morning around 10:00. They are bitting on red wireworms with a yellow bead. Got a couple nice whities & 1 perch. Had a 5 or 6 pound ling up to the hole but lost it trying to get it turned.
