Default Winefred Lake Outfitters

Have studied the Winfred Lake Outfitters website. A trap experience combined with wolf-hunting could be a nice alternative.
Is Winefred area good?
Can someone explain the tag/license system in Canada for me?
Any with experience with Winfred Outfitters?

Best regards the naive Norwegian

Winifred Lake is a pretty wild area with a reputation for moose and black bear hunting. It will be a wilderness experience for you and the lodge has been around for a long time so i believe they'd treat you good.

An outfitter buys allocations or tags for individual species. He then markets the tags to guys like you. You won't be able to set traps or harvest fur but you can accompany the trapper on his line. A norwegian should love it.

I've been there fishing a few times. Last sept we saw a huge black bear. The lodge is comfortable. The food was amazing. The staff was pleasant. I don't know if the trapping/hunting is from the lodge or not but I know they did do some outfitting there. If you go make some time to fish. That lake is full of monsters.

Winifred Lake Lodge and Winifred Lake Outfitters are two different businesses, located on different parts of the lake. Lots of wolves in the area.

Oh cool. Well I'd still make time to fish. You can catch them from shore and if you're there in the winter I've seen some big ones caught through the ice in pictures.
