I'd say hold out on that replica, catch a bigger one. There's lots of them out there, not sure about slave lake perch though. I seem to get a 14+ every year but I'm holding out for 15+

Nice perch! Like said before, hold on to that replica as you will want one of the 15" plus fat perch caught in the late winter.

Thanks for the info. Great now I'm going to have to head back out there to catch me a 15+ " fish. Good to know that they are out there.
And I wasn't thinking straight. But I let that perch go!! Regret every minute if it!!

Was about 2 years ago we caught 3 over 14 while jigging one was only a couple ounces lighter than the provincial record. It's nice to get them at that size. Good job putting them back, need more of that these days.

X2 - last March I caught a 14.5 inch Perch at Cutbank.

OP, keep fishing, still a great fishy, but maybe not worth the $ to get it done.

Default Replica

I say go with the replica, if or when you catch a bigger one get it done too! Perch mounts look best when they are done in a school setting! Just my opinion, defiantly not my wife's as our house is starting to look like Noah's ark!

Just like I mentioned to the guy who caught that giant Pike.
Check these Perches and decide for yourself, I have seen these Perch replicas at this guy's shop, they are unreal:

A trophy is what the memory means to you.

They don't have to be provincial records to make great mounts. Sometimes great or unusal markings or an idea for a unique mount can be special.

A 12.5 perch is a nice fish. Congratulations
