Sorry to re-hijack your thread but for anyone interested Lake Whites are incredibly active at MacGreg,, wished I had not reorganised the fishing gear and thus leaving all my whitefish lures at home on the bench.

I never fish the dam during open water only ice,, we were more down towards the boat launch in the gravel. Tried the weir for awhile but the big lake was clear and windless, a nice treat,,, though a flyrod in the canal would prove most efficient. My dad lost a fish that tugged like an eye but he lost it before we could see it.

AND, I almost forgot,, did anyone lose a fishing rod and reel,, tell me the bizarre set-up and I'll get it back to you.
