Default Where to take 5yr old?

Hi, I'm in Edmonton and I'm looking for a good place to take my son on his first fishing trip. I dont need monster fish but would like a place where theyre really bitting. We dont have a boat so it needs to have a good dock or some cleared shoreline.

Suggestions so far are Hasse, Spring and Hermatige Park

I'd say take him to CHICKAKOO prob better than all thoes other ones! It's just north west of stony plain. I've had good luck out there with my son this year.

Magee lake close to ponoka. All you need to do is drive up there and start casting from the shore. Lots of small pikes that are fun to catch

hermitage park is the most child friendly fishing hole i've been to. bring some bread along to feed the ducks and geese if he gets bored

Tried it. Not a shore friendly place. One or two clear spots and you have to get there EARLY to claim them.

take him down to the whitemud creek in edmonton, turn right just before fort edmonton.

buy some p-rigs and tip them with a minnow on the top and worm on the bottom.

if he wants to try tossing some stuff around get some cheap Mr. Twisters who knows he may catch suckers, gold eye, pike, walleye he will get hooked up for sure though !
