Default 2 stroke outboards banned?

Heard someone say that 2 strokes outboards are going to be banned in all of Alberta Lakes. Has anyone heard anything about this?

Heard the same thing a few months back. Not sure if its true or not. Personally I think they will have trouble banning them. They may however ban the selling of new ones here. Of course this is just my personal opinion.

From what I understand, they are only going to ban selling them. God bless you Al Gore . Those 4 strokes are freakin' heavy to get mounted on a transom! I think it will be something that gets 'grandfathered' in.

Not clear to me why they would ban selling them. Anyone care to explain?

Ban selling new ones. Just like they did trikes. Environment factor, or so they say it exhausts unburnt oil into the lake.

Yeah, lil, you're correct. It's an environmental move, as we all know that 2 strokes are the primary contributer to global warming! Sheeze!

Tree what I said is only my opinion, I have no facts to back it up. But knowing the way the enviroment movement is going and things they say I imagine they say the 2 cycle engines contribute to the pollution of lakes by putting unburnt oil into the water. Of course like I said its only my opinion as to why this may come to reality.

Sorry lil! I wasn't taking a shot at ya, I was simply being sarcastic toward all of the al gore wannabes in the world. That's all. If you were offended, don't be. I suppose I could have left out the 'Sheeze'. That being said, however, there is NOTHING wrong with trying to be more environmentally friendly, that's a good thing.
