Default Where to start...

Well I moved here in January and haven't been out yet because well I'm not sure where to start...I'm not asking for your 'honey holes'...just a little direction. Haven't really fished much for Trout before but fished for a lot of Pike.

Anyways, any and all help is appreciated!!

Thanks!!

@FishHunter...This has nothing to do with your quote, just noticed you were from Bentley. When I first moved out here near 6 years ago, the first time I went fishing was with a fella I had met through work. He said he knew some decent holes and would take me out for a day. I remember it being the first day of fishing season too. Anyway, this guy takes me out to the medicine river at the bridge about half way between Bentley and Sylvan Lake. Me and him threw lines there for at least two hours with no sign of any fish. This being the only place I had been told to try fishing, I took my girlfriend to the same spot to try our luck again. We casted there for at least another two hours and again nothing. My question for you is: Is there actually fish to be caught out of that river?

Sorry..forgot to include my city..I'm in Calgary (dt).

Thanks for all the replies...I'm available most weeknights and weekends.

I've heard the Bow is great...but as to where...I haven't a clue. Also, is there anywhere close to the city to catch walleye or pike?

i know this will get the hater and this is junk club in high gear....but Eagle lake is a good spot for walleye and pike.
alot of great fishing but most are 2 hours outside of calgary.
Read your regs well, the Bow is broken down into sections.
Go see the boys at The Fishin Hole they are good people

hey rob the pike in that river are wayy the hell down stream. we got a spot there when were camping along the river were a 16lberr 18lber was caught the fish in there are best caught on light silver spoons with a single circle hook it catches alot more fish then treles IMO. you dont wanna be eating the fish out of there anyways from the sewyer. but if you walk dwn streem along ways but only taking one cast every 10-15 feet and just cover water. i can take you fish there in summer as know that river of the back of my head.
