Default Latest Fishing Trip (Perch content) and new member introduction.

Hey guys,

Just got back from Devils Lake, ND for some perch fishing with the Perch Patrol. Had a blast. Hammered fish for all of our three days, the perch didn't hit hard until the third day. Lots of big perch, 15in was our biggest.

About me:

I'm a 21 year old student at the University of Calgary. Huge hockey fan, in the context of the NHL, a huge Senators fan. Been fishing since I could hold a rod, learning the art at Pine Lake, AB, fishing mostly for perch and pike. I've fished as far north-west as at Kesagami Lodge, north of Cochrane, Ontario and as far west as Prince Rupert, BC.

Biggest fish are as follows:

Pike: ~15lbs at Lake Newell on a Williams' Wabler

Perch: 14.5in at Devils Lake, ND on a jig tipped with a minnow head

Walleye: 31.5 in on Margot Lake, Ontario on a jig and 6in pumpkinseed Berkley worm as well as its 30in sister 2 hours later on the same tackle

Small Mouth Bass: 19.5in on Margot Lake, Ontario on a jig and leech

Chinook Salmon: 25lbs, Prince Rupert, BC

I've caught probably 10 other species of fish but nothing significant enough to document. If anyone wants any more perch pictures or info on Devils Lake, just ask!

Tight line!

We went with the Perch Patrol outfit (www.perchpatrol.com). I believe the license was $14 or something like that, just a normal out of state license, IIRC. We didn't have any trouble bringing fish back across the border. We were initially very worried as we didn't have the foggiest idea of what the regulations were but in the end, it wasn't a problem.

Thanks for the kind words everyone. I've been very lucky to fish some great waters and have been even luckier to have some beautiful fish commit suicide on my line every once in a while.

Tight line!

Sweet, I've been watching a bunch of Devils lake videos online, they have some huge perch and walleye there. Sure would be nice to go fish some of those great lake like Devils ND one day.

Most of my cell pictures are pretty repetitive. The pictures really don't capture the actual size of these things, they're absolutely massive.

Dug this one up, this perch was a hog. Picture doesn't do justice whatsoever, just glad that I was able to get its measurement on camera.

Correction: The license was $15 for non-residents.
