Default Hilliards Bay - Slave Lake

Has anyone ever fished the Hilliard's Bay area and west side of Slave? Son and I are camping at the PP there in a couple weekends. It's a bit away from the large crowds on the east side of lake. Just wondering about your experiences in that part of the lake, structure and what's working well...

Thanks in advance.

There's a big walleye tourney every September next door to Hilliards Bay at Shaw point so I'd imagine there's good walleye in the area although I haven't fished it myself. Hilliards Bay is a favorite campground of the wife and I. Far enough from Edmonton it's never filled to capacity but it has nice big sites and if you pick the right one, good trees and privacy. Also, there's a boat launch at HB!

If you haven't yet, check on Angler's Atlas for a bathometric map of Lesser Slave Lake so you can find some likely spots to go fishing. Also, check the reg's. I haven't looked lately but there may be restrictions on fishing too near the in/outlet
