Lowrance HDS5 sonar/gps combo

Recently purchased a lowrance HDS5. Tried it for the first time on Saturday but couldn't get sonar to work. Had all the other functions workin but sonar screen said "stopped". Any ideas on what the problem could be? Thinking maybe the transducer but don't wanna buy it if it's not the problem.

Go to sonar menu and uncheck stop sonar.

If that isn't the issue or it doesn't work then return the unit and ask for a different one.

YUP ......... I "fixed" an old timers Lowrance sonar at the lake last year by doing just that ....... hitting enter to clear the cursor.

Poor guy, sitting at dock staring at the thing, thought it was broken all weekend until he saw my boat had a few gadgets on it and thought he would ask for some help.

Old timer still caught more fish than we did .....lol.
