Default Where are the #11 caps

Video explains the shortage comes down to CCI has to change tooling to produce caps they normally do this once a year due to demand of centerfire they haven't made any for a few years.

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=h2IyP7LhbRQ

It's going be awhile before we see some in Canada

Default Percussion Caps?

There’s an interesting YouTube video: Ramset Percussion Caps by Majormusket. For those of you who do not like/shoot flintlocks; this may help you in the meantime. I shoot flintlocks; but this is an interesting alternative until there are percussion caps on the shelves at a reasonable price.

The plastic caps are hit and miss mostly miss

I have enough caps to get me through, Cabelas had some #10 a few months ago I snatched up enough to keep the cap n ball fed.

If I run out of #11 I can go with my cap collection I tried some from the 1890's they still worked

I changed my nipple on my 54 cal to take musket caps.
Wow what a difference, never a misfire, and they are way easier to remove and put on.
I also found musket caps easier to get.
Though I have not looked for musket caps in a long time either, as I bought a pile of them when I switched over to them, and I should be good for a lifetime of shooting this old girl.

If someone is in dire need of some #11 I can take a look, I probably have a bunch of tins of them left over, that did not get used up from before I made the switch to musket caps.

I swapped out the #11 nipples to musket caps as well worked perfect on my White Mtn. carbine, you have to watch the height of the nipple I put another on my 54 Hawken the hammer doesn't hit it square on top causing misfires.

Musket caps are easier to find however like everything else the prices are getting up there last gun show saw some for $30 at the Scribners auction 3 tins sold for $320
