If you want something different, a BLR in .358 is nice to pack around, and nothing to sneeze at.

Not a pistol cartridge, but a 336 in 35Remington is about as good as it gets for a lever gun.

The only one that might better it would be a BLR in 308.

It doesn't.
I think they were just looking at factory ammo power levels, as most 45 Colt is loaded to cowboy power levels. 44-40 didn't make the cut either. 357 mag... not sure who came up with these restrictions but they sure don't account for the KNOWLEDGEABLE shooters/hunters out there.

I bought my Rossi 92 in 454, don't need that power level but it doesn't have 45 Colt stamped on the barrel so that should save some headache if a guy ever gets checked while out hunting. Load accordingly.
