Finally made it out here on the open water. What a fun lake to fish. Pike were plentiful and healthy. Nothing huge but lots of scrappers. Great lake to take the kids out to. Boat launch at Silver Sands is small but in good shape and manageable for even bigger boats. Not sure how the lake fares moving forward in to summer but clean and clear at the moment. Cheers!
Give it a month it will look like pea soup and smell like an outhouse. It will be bad this year, between the Lake Isle and Lac ste Anne the sturgeon river is choked off with bull rushes and beaver dams and has no flow.
I have really not seen any of our tax money or fishing licence money ever going into fixing boat launches or fixing the water levels in these two lakes for years .
