Perch on the fly ( just like all fish) are fun.
We've had good success with small bead head (in colors olive, black, white and yellow) woolly buggers.
You can fish 'em under and indicator, floating line or slow sink.

I tie flies with a bead on a scud hook small, about a 1\2" hook from bend to eye about 3/4" marabou body and if you want get really fancy put eyes on the bead with epoxy or uv "glue", l was actually tying some today. Small bead head nymphs work as well but that marabou really gets em going. I sight fish for them in all the ponds/lakes in Lethbridge, if l have an hour or two to kill. Regardless of what you choose for a pattern it needs weight to get down to them. I also tie them on jigs well, and the technique is like Czeck nymphing/jigging, let it sink to the depth they are at and jig it back up, anyway good luck and tight lines!
