Default Fishing in black diamond??...

So im taking my elderly step mom out as she needs to get out. Is there any ok fishing in black diamond where she can sit at a picnic table and i can hit a few holes or something? She has bad knees and is over 70 so i dont need any places that are hard to get to....

Any ideas?

Tnx

Pretty much anywhere worth fishing is hard to get to. I would recommend a stocked pond / day use area. McLean Pond or Chain Lakes come to mind.

She's over 70....take the time to sit with her and talk. Some day you'll be happy you spent a day like that.

Maybe go to sandy McNab campground. The river is close and should be lots of picnic tables close to the river

The road to the river at Sandy McNabb is still closed and the picnic tables are covered with river washout. Take her to High River. The lake is stocked and easy access for the elderly

At the bridge, west of town heading towards turner valley, take your first turn north after the bridge. There is an entrance to the Sheep river about 1/2 k down the road. There are 3 pools there, but no picinic bench. One of those folding chairs should suffice.

Cheers

Archie and Janet Hogg Park. Drive towards Okotoks, then turn right (south) when you see the sign. You will be on the Highwood.

Now there is a campground right in Black Diamond, with the Sheep River right beside it. I've never been in the campground or fished the Sheep there.

Now there ARE benches and pathways right along the Sheep in Okotoks. You can fish and she can watch you and the people walking and riding by.

Thanks all.....i didnt fish this time....but we will go back. The bakery in black diamond has homemade chili in a big bun....we went to the big bar on the 4 way stop...she had a real good time....her knees were really bothering her and were swollen...so....no worries. If we head out next time ill try to do one.of the above mentioned in this thread....

Tnx
