Default ice thickness??

Planning on getting out tomorrow to Eagle Lake (the one near Strathmore), and haven't been out on the ice for awhile. With all this cold weather does anyone know how the ice thickness is? I only have a manual auger with no extension. Will I get though? Thanks

Sure, but why go out to a place an die of an heart attack trying to drill through 30" of ice with a hand auger when there aren't any fish or hardly any to worry about.

Because I know that you're wrong, and there are still a few in there.

Lots of buzz on Eagle the last little while. Seems like people think this is 5 years ago! Oh well, for your reference, there is 30" of ice in the area so I don't see why it wouldn't be different.

Heck, if you search on here, last week there was a thread about it. Lots of heated debates and many a PM....

When you heading out?

I would say you are getting very close to max on a standard auger. I had about 2-3 inches at Sundance last weekend... Closer to shore it will be thicker.

I'll give you credit for the "can-do" attitude but at some point reality has to be taken into acct. THE PLACE SUCKS!!
