I for one really struggle with SRD / Fish & Wildlife. Everything they do is a knee jerk reaction, with little or know thought.

Take the bow zones 212 and 248. For years they have provided over the counter general season tags for the following.

A. White Tail deer - you could kill either sex (doe or buck)
B. Mule Deer - you could kill either sex (doe or buck)
C. Antlerless tags (2) - you could kill two does either species (mule or white tail)
D. Primitive Season (2) - after the season you could kill 2 more does either sex with written permission from the landowner.

My point is; Remove the antlerless doe tags, the primitive season doe tags - that takes 4 potentially killed mule deer or whitetails does off the plate

Not enough; Make mule deer and white tail general tags buck only, not either sex.

SRD/Fish & Wildlife provided these seasons to drastically reduce breeding stock and deer numbers.

Now all of a sudden we have a problem, we need to go to draws because we are killing off the mule deer, give your heads a shake!!

If we left the does (breeding stock) alone, can you imagine the number of animals in the bowzones? Can you also imagine what it would do to the kill stats if you removed the does from the numbers.

it is about makeing it so your number of times in the field are more limited so there for they have one less thing to leave the office for that is also why they are so clueless and not very respectfull of most hunters when we are stopped with LIGHTS A FLASHING .

Mike i dont think the draw will affect those bow zones could be wrong but dont think so. Srd wants all mule deer dead. They this winter have been at it again trying to get the ball rolling with bait sites to kill in mass, any found positives would spur into action all mule deer bucks over i believe 2 points killed within a ten mile radius of any positive.
This entire punish archers for too high success rates is bs and everyone knows it. They are not doing an archery draw to bring harvest rates to where they desire them, as they have been for 10 years trying to extirpate deer. Anyone blaming archers for a lack of deer are off thier rockers. Bow harvest rates are marginal at best. Srd And the Afga and the precious Doug Butler want to kill deer, and they for some unknown reason want to destroy archery in this province as well. Dont worry about your bow zones, least not for now anyways. But do please keep the rest of us that used to be archers in the loop, wanna see some field photos from you cats.

The bowzones are not scheduled to go on archery draw, but if the other surrounding zones do, then bowhunters will pound 212, 248 until either they are sick of each other, acreage owners are sick of seeing them, or there are no deer left.

Ya that is likely to be more than potentially a problem DH. The planks are flyin off the SRD ship. From pillar to post this province is just about completely in shambles.
