Default Mushroom growing outdoors

I’ve been watching videos on people who go into the woods and cut down trees and start little mushroom groves. Others who grow in their yards. Who here does either or these?

https://growmushroomscanada.ca/learn...ing-wine-caps/

I want to try but I procrastinate too much.

My wife got me a backyard oyster mushroom kit. It produced the first year but I think it’s too dry here in Calgary.

Just go to the woods in a summer and pick some real mushrooms. Way more fun!

Our son has a Purple Oyster kit as well.
He’s inoculated 8-10 poplar totems, aprx 4 ft long, 10” diameters.

Got some last year (year one) but he’s expecting a lot more this year.

Inoculated wood chips with wine caps, willow logs with ****akis, and poplar with oysters last year. Mycelium took over by the end of the year, should be able to harvest this year…. And yes, I also pick wild mushrooms. Last year was awesome for aspen boletes.

Default Spore suppliers?

Where is a good place to get mushroom spore from? I’ve seen some on amazon but any other thoughts or recommendations?

A few years ago I got a kit to grow button mushrooms. It was a styrofoam box, medium and spawn. Worked real good. I have tried to get this again but have had no luck finding a place that sells them.
