Iced two pike and a walleye, just little guys. Still safe to drive after all that warm weather? Anybody around is wlcome to say hi, black ford eskimo two man tent, ill be solo this trip.

Ill be right out in front of the campground somewhere, probably park the truck on land and hike, unless somebody confirms the ice is safe tonight. I plan to stay until 200 or so, hope to catch a keeper this time. Catch me at the right time I might have some tea or coffe on.

A friend was out on Tuesday and the ice was fine. It may have snowed a few inches yesterday. There was a heavy snowfall warning there yesterday.

Ice is good I fish buck alot especially in front of the campground and rodeo it's really packed down on the entrance shouldn't have any problems unless you get too far off the beaten path.

Got back from Buck Lake today after fishing Carson in the morning We drove a lot on the ice but there is a ton of snow so please make sure you have a really good 4x4. The ice where we fished was only 12-14" thick in 12 FOW.
There was 4 of us and everyone but myself caught. My son caught a small walleye and everyone else caught pike.

Arrived at 7am, line in by 730. Lots if snow on ice, people drove on but I walked. Pretty quiet here so far. No people no fish so far. No flood water, crusty snow... Bit of water coming out the hole ice is making a lot of noise. 300m off shore in about 20fow 16 to 18" of good ice.

3 other guys all walked on, one guy drove. I was there about 6 hours, and caught two walleye, both really small.

We walked on as well and had a few missed bites and three small pike. Great day out and an over exhausting workout as well. I need a snowmobile:-)

Hey thank you Gboe8 for the response !! I appreciate it. 👍 I'm hoping my front wheel drive suv can navigate the entrance onto the lake then. I'll give it a try.

Was on the lake from 6 am to 2 pm, one small pike and one missed bite. Tried everything in my arsenal, even a new ratlin jigin unit from rapla I paid 15$ for. Im a terrible fisherman though. Tried 6 spots and 12 exhausting manual holes and tent moves in 6 to 20 f.o.w.. It was a good snow shoe hike anyways.
Ice was 18+ inches, clear with Almost no white ice on top. 6 to 8" of snow on top. One guy drove on baja style, was a tough go at 4000 rpm, as he went by my tent at 50km/h. At least there a trail on the north side now.

Those ratlin jigs are awsome I usually drown a minnow for a half hour to 45min in a few spots if the walleye are on a hole I'll drill another hole beside it and drop the rattle rap and fish both rods at the same time and the rap keeps them around and even out fishes the minnow ! Expensive (I have 5-6) but worth it. The hand auger tends to keep people in the same spot longer then they should be lol, powered augers are worth it and easy to justify if u put $25 - $30 away a month for next season
