waterfowl conditions
I know the moisture is negatively affecting people, and I feel bad for them, honestly.
But if there is a silver lining, I was out and about our family farm and I wandered over to my 'go to' duck hunting spot on Sunday, and I could not get over how things looked.
There is just an explosion of life. All manner of waterfowl, there was some kind of a insect bloom, (some kind of midge maybe), and the hum of billions of insects was amazing. On top of the constant chorus from the frogs. Shore birds, yellow headed and red winged black birds. Raptors. Terns, I saw 2 cranes flying overhead, never thought any nested this far south (east of edmonton)?
Seeing deer, moose, I've seen huns again the last few years. What's next, wild pheasants?
Incredible. I don't think I've ever seen this, if I did it was when I was a little kid 40 years ago. It was awesome from a hunter/wildlife lover perspective.
