Default Recommend Fishing Tackle BC Lakes

We are heading to Wells Gray this weekend, camping at Clearwater Lake.
Then we will be at Yellow Lake (Lac Le Jeune) south of Kamloops.

I know there are Rainbows in Yellow Lake, up to 4 lbs.

I don't flyfish.

I'm thinking small spinners, flatfish, small spoons...

Thoughts? Advice?

5 of diamonds up to 1/4oz
orange and white devil
wedding band if your trolling
even a small jig with a white body bounced on a rocky bottom can be effective when they are down deep.

Default Lures

I’d try a F-4 flatfish frog pattern on 60’ leader with 3 colours lead line, or a small willow leaf and worm/willow leaf, wedding band and worm. My buddies wife, being somewhat unconventional, uses a long leader with a black bead head leach and as much worm as the hook will hold behind 3 colours lead line. Outfishes all of us.

When I was living in Northern BC the most productive lure was the red/white/red Len Thompson spoon, size No. 8, attached directly to the line via the included swivel. I have come to refer to this lure as "The Great Canadian Trout Magnet". Cast it like a missile, reel it in, repeat until dinner is served.
