Default Rangefinder recommendation

I need a rangefinder for hunting mostly. I have a Tectectec Pro rangefinder that is a very accurate rangefinder. When the deer are out to 50 to 60 yds I start to have trouble guessing the correct range.
Thanks in advance for any opinions.

What's your price range? prophet river has a good price on their Leica 1600b, it would be the last rangefinder you'd ever have to buy.

Re the Leica 1600b, I have one and for the price you could definitely do better. I had the Swarovski but didn’t like the ergonomics of it for one handed use while bow hunting so I sold it and bought the Leica. Wish I never did that. Unless you step up to the high end rangefinders you won’t find much difference between a Leica, a Nikon, a vortex et al.

Find one with the features you like then check online reviews to see what the owners have to say about it. Pick the one with the highest rating, but just make sure it’s more than one or two reviews.

Depends how much you are wanting to spend, and what max range you are looking to range and shoot.

I have been happy with my Bushnell for the last decade, and am now upgrading to a Leica 2400.

I have used Swaro, Leica, Vortex, Bushnell, Nikon, Leupold and a few other RFs. So far my two favourites have both been Leicas, the 1200 and the Leica 2400R. I have a 1600 B and if I did it again I would not get another with the ballistics program in it. Find it not very useful and clutters up the process. Outside of that I love the Leica optics and in Africa I was ranging Impala at 950 yards with the 1200, a two hand hold over the hood of the truck. I also ranged Zebra at 500 yards through the windshield. Nothing else I ever used would range that quick or anywhere near that far through glass. The Geovids I had were real nice glass but being left eye dominant I found the fact the range readout was only in the right eye a real pain to work with.

Kurt - would be really interested to know what you don't like about your 1600 B.

I’ve never had any issues with the Leica optics I’ve owned

I have a nikon with the stabilizing feature and really dont like it.
I find it really screws me up trying to range distant objects.
I will be upgrading it soon.
