Usually glow jig with bait or just bait. Sometimes the fishing isint great at night but its awesome camping on the ice and being ready for the morning bite.

I'm going to have to look into this camping overnight on the ice , makes sense if you travel far and want to make a couple days really worth it.

Looks like some more $$$ , how will I convince old lady of this stunt hahaha

You pitch the tent...she goes to the spa.

I am ready, batteries all charged, ice rods rigged. Made a couple more mods to the ice shack over summer. Might shoot a whitetail in November but going to concentrate on helping my son get his first moose before that. Suppose to get some ice making weather next week.

This is another reason we do it, the lakes we like to fish are about 1-1.5hr from home, so if we're wantingto fish for 2-3 days it makes sense, plus its super fun IMO

sometimes ill go bare bones, toss a foam matress in the back seat of my truck(crew cab) stuff a bunch of clothes or old blankets or whatever on the floor to support the matress better, bring a sleeping bag and a couple blankets, sleep like a baby. And easy set up lol

Once I discovered there were places to fish in winter that you could wear shorts n sandals, and the only ice encountered kept the drinks cold, I never drilled another hole in a lake...😉

I got a 14x16 deluxe wall tent. I'm in the process of building a big wood heater for it. I'm shooting for four cubic feet and air tight. I got an insulated floor for it I made out of halo board.
