Funny stuff!
Muskie and Pike are very similar, with the Muskie being lighter in color. For most guys, Pickeral and Walleye are the same thing. Does it matter? No.

Any "regular" fisherman knows what someone is talking about when he hears a guy say "Pickeral" or "Jackfish". I realize Pickeral are different from Walleye, but if i had to correct every guy that i heard say that i would go nuts. We know what he means is what i am trying to say.

But don't ya love the fun of it all!
What is the difference between a Sauger and a Walleye ? Test
Muskie don't have White Spots.
Chain Pickerel are Darker than Pike making the spots more defined.
Pickerel minus the chain designation are more often walleye same /same
Northern Pike AKA Jack are different then Pike but thats for a biologist
Has anyone ever died from using the wrong name on a fish like to bad he thought the blue ring octopus was a squid OOh! that would be bad

hmmm
wilbur why did'nt u just rip out all the seats in ltd take off the roof so u can stand up. Put some sticks on top to make a higher frame then take some garbage bags and make it nice in dark inside. Then make some holes in the bottom of ltd that u can fish out of. and if u want u could make hole where the backseat sould be. So u can climb into the trunk and sleep when the fishing is slow. Also it would own probably cost u a buck 1.50 for the garbage bags. So it would be really cheap for u 2 do.

Any idiot knows the difference so what the hell does it matter?
Many pro anglers call them pickeral, I guess they might be brain dead aswell.
Just for the record, Muskie are not even close to pike.
Other then general shape, they are two extremely different fish.
Memory, strength, spawning, are a couple major differences but
skis are also highly territorial.
If you have chased them, you know what I mean.
I say chase because thats mostly what you do.
I have fished 5 days straight with not even a follow..

walleye pickerel
I just typed in "walleye pickerel" in the google search and most of the results were that walleye were also known as pickerel. Hmmm????? I always thought there was a bit of a difference.

If there is ever a doubt whether you have a muskie or pike, you count the holes on the ventral side of the gill plates.

HERE, HERE, This is a great opportunity to help someone out. I do not think it's in Wilburs best interest to gut the LTD. If you go to an auto wrecker and pick up an old gutted Cadillac then put a hitch on you could tow it to the lake. Rip out the seats and drill a few holes in the bottom for ice fishing. Now this is the way to take out a few buddy's for a days fishing.
As for the great Walleye / Pickerel debate, some of you should take your pills so your mom won't get mad at you.
