Default Late Summer Fishing Trips

Took some days off last week to head out and do a bit of fishing

Tuesday - Wednesday were spent at Touchwood Lake, had some great weather and great fishing, we were limited in our movements due to an issue with my outboard (that eventually was fixed later in the week) so we rowed around the area near the boat launch. Rattling cranks were the ticket for many of our hook-ups, but we also caught fish on jigs, spinners and spoons.

Some photo's from Tuesday's action

Wednesday was a bit smokier and windier compared to Tuesday, but we still managed a few nice fish and the Walleye were especially willing in the morning

Came off the lake around noon on Wednesday as the wind started to pick up and we needed to hit the road, but I will definitely be back to this lake!

Friday - Saturday were spent at Long Lake and Amisk Lake respectively, fought with wind and some rain on Friday at Long, but we managed a couple of small Pike while trolling. We covered a lot of water but found the fish difficult to entice into biting.

Saturday was a different story altogether as we had a buddy join us with his boat for a day of fishing at Amisk. Great weather and lots of water covered had us into close to 100 fish between the three of us. Managed only a couple photos this day, great lake with great scenery!

Overall, was a good week of fishing, with plenty of quality fish caught. Touchwood and Amisk being the highlights, will definitely be back to fish both of these lakes again

Hope you enjoy the pics

Nice report! That Touchwood is a lake that just makes you go "ahhhhhh...". One of the nicer looking lakes and shorelines around. Good fishing doesn't hurt either

Congrats on the success.

Thanks!
Touchwood was interesting in that only 5 sites were occupied in the whole campground while we were there.
Nice little campground, but the girls selling firewood said that the regulation changes to Pike and Walleye this year seems to be keeping the number of campers down, some sites looked as if they hadn't been used all season long with big mats of grass growing through the gravel sites on many we went by

Really was impressed with the clarity of Touchwood too, could see straight down in 8' of water which was pretty amazing
