Default Stanley Cup Final fun fact

If only we could afford to keep our Canadian players in Canada, the cup would never leave!

I know #3 Braden McNabb he grew up close to my hometown in Sask. his dad is a big farmer. I used to deliver fertilizer to him during seeding in the spring. Go Vegas be nice to see the cup go back to his hometown.

It's pretty easy to argue that the elite players in this series aren't Canadian though.

Florida had to do it tonight again and almost did. With 19 sporting a wounded wing, Vegas will get their cup. Too bad as I was hoping their Cinderella playoff run would see them through. Heck of a series and an even better run by Florida.

I feel this is pretty straightforward....

If you're picking a player to build a franchise around, who are you picking? I'm suggesting he won't be Canadian....

ohh too many over the years to mention but this years draft has a beauty as in Connor Bedard.....just saying.....see how he pans out over the upcoming years though.

Most elite players get a rude awakening to the league but once they adapt and get a support structure around them watch out!!!

It would be most years if he wasn't a goalie. The 3 best players in the game today are still Canadian and thats not even a discussion. Both relatively young as well. And then there's Sydney.

Going Canadian infinitely better than a prima donna American. Also no question who the top 2 draft eligible are this year. All one really needs to do is look at the nationality %'s of most teams captain. 13 of 24 currently.

But the team with the most Canadians on the roster is the Oilers.

How many Canadian players on Edmonton Oilers? Answer: There are 21 Canadians players on the Oilers.

The Oilers are one of the highest teams with ice skaters from Canada, following the Vegas Golden Knights. The latter has 24 such active athletes.

We're talking about Vegas and Florida here.

Aiden Hill would be a solid start in net but neither team has a build around superstar on their roster. They're kind of few and far between and = nada without a talented team around them.

The superstars are golfing, not playing for the Cup.

Yep. Team depth trumps all.

As my brother in law pointed out... its between two teams, with modest fan bases, from places that dont even care about hocky... why even care who wins?

While arguably not completely correct, I do see his point.

Because they fielded the teams that had the depth and determination to win . Superstars or huge fan bases, aren't enough to win Stanley Cups.
