I've got a few friends in the States that booked a trip to Kodiak for a 3 deer hunt each. The hunt is assisted but not guided. I think they call themselves a transporter or something like that.
We stay on a 68' boat and eat crab/prawns/halibut that they catch daily. They drop us off on the island and pick us up at the end of the day.
Since I'm an "alien" I won't be pulling any triggers but I'll bring my glass and pack to help out a buddy. I guided him when he completed his North American 29. He needs to upgrade his blacktail as it is his only deer that didn't meet B&C. I think he thinks I'm good luck
After watching a few episodes of "The Hunt".....I'll be keeping my eyes open for those big brown things they have running around there tho.
Hopefully they have a bunch of snow and the deer will be down on the beaches as opposed to having a bunch of "up" to do. Either way it will be a fantastic time I think.
