Default Police Lake Report?

I was just wondering if anyone has been out there in the last few weeks.... I'm mostly wondering how the weeds are right now?

Thanks in advance!

Here's a post from Fly fish Calgary Forum .

was out last Tuesday, Aug. 2. Weeds well established. Except along the north shore and east abit. 5 hrs. of fishing 3 to the net. Biggest 17" Only person fishing all day long. Very few fish rising even though periods of calm water. So...went to Payne. Fishing somewhat more active but fish small 12-14".
6 to net in a couple hours.

Is that normal? Is fishing worse this year? Or does it just get seasonally slow?

Trout is always slower in the heat of the summer. Expect more action earlier in the morning as water does cool over night.

During the heat fish low and slow. In the evening look for dry fly action. Fish cooler days.

Remember to fight them faster and take time to release and keep them I the water as much as possible. When warm they may start getting oxygen deprivation damage after just 20-30 seconds.

Lactose acid built up can kill the fish even after it slowly sinks to the bottom.
