Default Fire Blight/Black Knot

My property backs on to reserve/green belt along the Sturgeon River within Sturgeon County. The native Choke Cherries and Pin Cherries have Fire Blight or Black Knot on them. This stuff is contagious to many other species of tree. The county is aware of it but I'm not sure what measure can be taken on crown land in an ecological reserve. If you're close to the Sturgeon Valley keep an eye on your fruit trees so they don't become infected by this. I wouldn't be surprised to find out along the North Saskatchewan River is the same.

The only solution i am aware of is to remove any infected branches and burn them. My Mayday tree in the front yard had it and i had to cut it down because there was no stopping it.
