Looking for a good campsite i can tie up my boat close
Im looking to get out nextweekend camping. Want to get an eye to keep and have my boat tied up close enough no one will loot it
Any idea of such a place closer to edmonton within and hour or two?
We were thinking pigeon but we really want to have a walleye breakfast.

As you can see on the map ,red dot on the north end ,may be called buck creek campground ,its the only launch for large boats and has a few nice campingstalls on water front ,so you will need to get there early to get one.
Those stalls are out in the open and have no trees.
Some nicer stalls have trees and the center of the campground is open like an overflow area.
This is not a water sking lake but more of a fishing lake .
Self server campground ,warden does come in the evening for stall payment if not made in the box
What week end are you going.

Im working with a 19 foot so the launch kinda makes the weekend with the water as low as it is
Looking to head out next weekend, Thanks for the info guys Ill check it out.
Hows the fishing out there though? Hammer handles or are the keepers common as well?
I used to fish the shallows as a kid, not sure it this is the same lake? had an open camp that was taken care of by farmers down the road.

yeah the east is an open one looked after by the MD and the west one is privately operated. Not sure about the fish, i ice fished there 2 winters ago and got nice fish, all over 2 lbs, i was weighing most of them, the following summer we were there and there were about 3 or 4 other boats there, it was fathers day weekend, the fishing was good too, not huge but lots on the line and we didnt check out the whole lake cuz i had a new(used) boat and motor(electric) that i wasnt sure how long it would last pushing waves but i liked the fishing. but.... i have seen on another thread here right now that fishing is **** there, so IDK what to think. Yes the water is shallower around the campground so i cant say how well a 19 footer would go in there, i know the farthest to the west campsite on the east campground had a site there and there was a guy who had his ski boat there, it was at least and 18 with an outboard.

You have to check the regs but I thought at Pinehurst you can still keep a walleye, just over 2 hrs away. Had a decent launch, havent been there in a few though. Calling lake is good, small campground, get there early, would bring up the boat at night.

Thats what I have is a 19 footer ,and the only launch is at the north end.
the one at the east end is more for car toppers when i was there last year.
The north end has a natural merina that holds about 12 boats or more and camping is along the edge of it ,but you are parked like in a parking lot, right beside the next guy and a firer pit between, bring your own firerwood.(iam tring to give some away today ,just cut down a tree 12020-44st Edm )
Gets very busy at all campgrounds ,this is south buck last year ,june 13.
Get there before the weekend !
In the picture ,the boat launch is across from where I am taking the picture .
There are about 10 boats tied off just below where i am standing also . this is where its like a finger sticking out in the lake where you can camp on also.
main camping area in back ground.
Lower picture
This is what its like june 5 2009 along the tree line camping
This spot is in the upper right corner where all those trailers are in the above photo

I dont suppose you can give some directions to this site eh? All thats comming up is calhoun bay park, or buck lake national park.
Honestly that looks perfect for what were looking for
