Default 7mm-08 for black bear?

So i was gonna look into a black bear hunt this fall and if not then in the spring for sure. I was just wondering if the 7mm-08 with a 140gr. nosler accubond or 140gr. federal ballistic tip would do the trick? Thanks in advance!

That's a better combo than a lot of stuff for black bear.

7mm-08 is perfect for the job. I might lean towards the Accubond over the Ballistic tip in case you go through a bunch of bone on the way in.

Good luck!

It will do its job along as you do yours. Good luck out there.

More than enough. From what I hear, black bears are almost as easy to kill as deer. Good luck!

x2 use the same as you would on a whitetail, I wouldn't hesitate to use my .243 with 100gr BTSP

Took a black bear a couple of springs ago with that exact combo. 140 gr Accubond out of a Ruger Compact, running at ~150 yds and he didn't take more than a couple of steps after (mostly just momentum). Found him balled up in a coulee about 20' from where I shot him.

Great round!! Thinking about another one myself .

This guy was taken with a browning BLR in 7mm08 with winchester 140 gr powerpoints. Shot was approximately 75 yards.

take your 7mm08 and go fill your tags. I would even use it for elk. Dropped this guy like lightning. Hit em behind the front left leg in the boiler room. No need for a second shot.

Mulies and whit-tails dont like the 7mm08 either.

Next on the list for this rifle are moose and elk...
