Hey guys, I was looking for fishing spots around Ponoka and found this lake called Samson lake. I noticed that the Battle river flowed through it and I was wondering if anybody has ever fished the lake before.
I have fished the inlet to Samson Lake many times in the past,it can be hit and miss for pike but when it's on,its on! 50 pike evenings are not uncommon,but when it's dead there is not a fish around.They are all hammer handles,with monster of the night 3-5 pounds.Spoons,jigs,they all work.
You do however need to get permission from a land owner for access.
Thanks for the info! I guess you could just canoe downstream the battle to get to the lake. It is very strange how they don't mention it in the Sportfishing regulations book
