I'll put a vote in for goldeye as I don't see an adipose fin and the mouth structure and scales look off to be a rocky to me

Sorry thats not a whitefish or goldeye. Looks like an invasive species but will check, any other photos of this specimen.

Default it's a flathead chub, guys

...a large member of the minnow family that inhabits large rivers. I've caught them nearly a foot long in the NSR.

That's definately a rocky mountain whitefish....I caught 2 12 inchers tonight on a red tail prince nymph. btw these aren't pictures of the ones I caught. You said it didn't have teeth, in fact the mouth kind of looks a bit like a sucker...in a way. No longer 110% sure....lol

Nope...not a mountain whitefish (no longer called Rocky Moutain whitefish)...it's lacking an no adipose fin. Also, the upper jaw extends too far back. I'm not guessing here...it's a flathead chub. It's a very cool catch. Nice!

I assumed it was flattened down as the pic isnt very good...I did just notice the mouth doesnt overlap like the RMWF

Default chub

Caught lots in Pembina and North Sask. rivers. Took one to F&W once and was told it was chub. Had big jack hit them when reeling in on rigs.

Default ciscoe or tulipe

ciscoe or tulipe. Not sure if I am right but we use to catch similar fish in ontario. Not sure about a tulipe though, maybe thats just what my dad called them?

Default chub

many peaple confuse the chub and rockies... however if it is found in a river in the foothills and mountians... most likely a rocky.... ifits found in the prairies or a fair distance from the foothills.... most likely chub.... hope that helps.
