Smile Fishing around Medicine Hat

Hi am moving back to medicine hat from North SK in July and was hoping for some advice on where and what to fish for as only started fishing last year and don't fish last time I was in the hat. Don't mind traveling an hr or so but would like to keep it close to home if possible, I have a boat (bay line) for bigger lakes but also interested in shore fishing! Any help would be much appreciated THANKS

The river right through town has awesome fishing, big fish!! There are a few irrigation lakes around town, easy to see on google earth, they'll have a ditch in and a ditch out. These lakes will have pike and perch and a few walleye. Up towards the Cypress Hills you'll find a few trout lakes, they'll all be listed in the Fish Regulations. It won't be anything like Northern sask. but there are big fish around, especially in the river, which except for a few well known spots doesn't get much pressure. Welcome, and have fun!
