Make your own bobber stoppers? I have only every used the oval rubber ones that come on this wire attached to a small plastic disc. Would think they would be cheaper than any spool of line.

I tie my own too.

Use whatever I can find, from fly line backing to old musky line.

Tie them on old straws. Prefer thin straws.

Uni knot.

Tie my own. Canadian tire had a spool of 50lb black dacron for 6 bucks. Should last forever lol.

I don't want to put anyone out but I would love to see what these tied bobber stoppers look like if you could post a pic I would appreciate it.

I did a Google search but it kept showing me mass produced versions.

Here is a video that shows how tie your own bobber stops. He ties it directly on the fishing line, but you could easily tie it around a straw.

Below is a link to a picture of a bobber stop tied onto a straw.

in a pinch, I just use a short piece of fishing line myself. it will slip when pulling the bobber through the water, but it works and I've always got line.

X2

The rubber ones are the best I have ever used. Hard to find them some times though.

I use a piece of the rubber skirt off of a buzzbait. Wrap one piece 2 or 3 times and tie a knot. This is enough to stop a slip bobber and doesn't affect reeling in on your spool.
