I had heard it was just under 38, and the pics i saw was a different guy holding it. I bet Mr. Christie knows what's up.

Big fish. Doesn't look to be 39lbs, in my opinion.

Friend sent me a link to Camping in Style on Twitter, says just shy of 38 lbs and only 3oz from a new Alberta Record? FWIW.

Gorgeous fish but no where near 39lbs. I would put it at the 29-31 lb range. Great fish!!

That is a dandy pike! Whether it's 31 or 39 lbs it's a beauty!

lol no matter what, every time someone posts a pic or info of a big fish ,the experts come out of their holes to proclaim that it just can't be true. My faves are the posts like , no way that fish is xxlbs it's can't be more than xx lbs. I think if it was shown on the scales they would swear the scale was faulty or rigged

Yup, sad isn't it? Probably worked at the carnival guessing people's weight. That'll make them an expert when all you've got is one small picture with no true reference as to scale.

I'm not sure how much it is but I know that no one can predict size by looking at a picture. It may or may not be. If it is great, if not, who cares.

For the record the picture in this thread was posted by a guy mocking the 38 lb claim.

It was a nice pike but not 38 lbs. A ~40 lb pike has to be almost 50 inches and fat.

I posted the photo and wasn’t trying to mock anything! The
Photo was on f.b and had the claim of 38lbs. Just thought I would
Share it to add to the o.p thread. Sorry o.p I was not trying to be a “troll” or mock anything.

I wasn't calling you out lol...

You should have read all the comments on the facebook post you took that picture from, then you would have understood that a) that pike isn't 39 lbs(which should be obvious just looking at the picture) and b) that he posted it to mock a supposedly 38 lb fish(which also wasn't 38 lbs).

Maybe this will help clear things up...

I dont see that fish being far off 50 inchs at all, second,,,you are just another of the people that think it makes you a better fisherman by calling out another. Who cares if its 37 pounds. If its a record then we will all know soon enough. It’s held forward which always makes them look bigger but look at the width of the 3 finger hand in the pick and then look at your own, then scale it to the head length or the width of that tail. Like i said not far off 50”. Maybe dig real deep,,,,I mean real deep and just say nice fish and not do your best to take away from it

It could have been caught anywhere. As mentioned the guy posted his picture to make fun of another angler that had posted a smaller pike and was claiming it was 38 lbs.

I don't think the 38 lb post is up anymore.
