Calling, Green algae, and Rock Island River
In mid August we had a couple weeks of heat and Calling went about as Green as I ever seen it.
Funny thing is that over on the northwest corner where the Rock Island River runs in for about 1.5 miles there was tea coloured clear water!!!!
Tubing up by Rock Island River, and fishing, was very good.
The river runs for miles through muskeg picking up acid ph water, which knocks back the algae.
This year the water is very high, and has remained clear as of last weekend.
As for Fawcett, its creeks and rivers should be flowing well right now, so if you are concerned about algae, try where the inflow is, as it also has muskeg based water.
