Default First Gold Eye

Well I took a break from the work week and decided to check some spots I used to have luck catching smaller walleye and pike in the nearby river. Funny thing about rivers is you never know what you’re going to catch, and I managed to hook my first Gold Eye. No Alberta record by any means but a solid 1.01Lb on the scale and 37cm. Went back four days later and caught another one just over 40cm, only fish I caught that day but still nice to know there is a bit of a population. Always a good destress just sitting by the river listening to the water roll by, minus the mosquitos.
